1942 Plymouth Deluxe Sedan
1942 Plymouth Deluxe Sedan
The CPPC Technical Committee discovered this car in a lean-to woodshed on a farm outside of Vancouver WA in December of 2015, decided it was good enough to save, and trailered it back to a member's house to clean it up a little and see if they could sell it at Portland Swap Meet.
New CPPC Member Phil Lapin rose to the challenge, and purchased the car before it could go to the Swap Meet. He named the car "The Patina Princess," and went to work – removing about a hundred pounds of farm dirt from the undercarriage before he could assess what else needed to be done.
Almost four years later, the Plymouth, now named Mellow Yellow, has been getting short drives around the neighborhood as Phil systematically checks for roadworthiness after going through every part of the car.
A great deal of the transition was documented in Phil's column in the CPPC newsletter and also found its way to theTech Committee pages on this website.
